一、中國(guó)政府為什么取締“法輪功”
因?yàn)椤胺ㄝ喒Α痹谥袊?guó)犯下了嚴(yán)重的侵犯人權(quán)的罪行。

在“法輪功”的頭目李洪志嚴(yán)酷的精神控制下，1000多名“法輪功”練習(xí)者按照他關(guān)于“法輪功”練習(xí)者有病不能吃藥的歪理邪說，拒醫(yī)拒藥而死；幾百名練習(xí)者按照他“放下生死就是神”的要求自殘、自殺，30多人無辜被“法輪功”癡迷者殺害。最典型的例子是：2001年1月23日，7名“法輪功”人員按照李洪志“放下生死”、“追求圓滿”的要求，在北京天安門廣場(chǎng)集體自焚，造成2人死亡、3人重傷致殘。

1998年，山東省一家報(bào)紙報(bào)道一名“法輪功”人員有病不治導(dǎo)致死亡的消息，“法輪功”組織了1000多名“法輪功”人員圍攻該報(bào)社。同年5月，北京電視臺(tái)報(bào)道了一位博士生因練“法輪功”、癡迷李洪志的歪理邪說導(dǎo)致精神分裂的情況，“法輪功”也組織了1000多名“法輪功”人員圍堵北京電視臺(tái)。在被中國(guó)政府取締前，“法輪功”的這種圍攻行為有300多起。
“法輪功”違法犯罪、侵犯公民合法權(quán)益的行為，直到現(xiàn)在還在進(jìn)行。據(jù)不完全統(tǒng)計(jì)，自2002年6月以來，“法輪功”攻擊中國(guó)的通信衛(wèi)星，次數(shù)已達(dá)200次，攻擊時(shí)間累計(jì)超過100小時(shí)?！胺ㄝ喒Α边€公開煽動(dòng)破壞廣播電視有關(guān)的公共設(shè)施，在中國(guó)大陸已發(fā)生了100多起“法輪功”人員破壞光纖電纜、非法實(shí)施電視插播的案件。您在“法輪功”總部的網(wǎng)站上可以找到大量的教唆破壞通訊電纜的文章。2002年10月，華裔美國(guó)人、“法輪功”人員李祥春在江蘇省揚(yáng)州市破壞通訊電纜未遂。李在法庭上竟然宣稱，雖然他企圖破壞通訊電纜的行為是事實(shí)，但只要是為了宣傳“法輪功”，這些行為都不犯法。“法輪功”還有組織地通過因特網(wǎng)發(fā)送垃圾郵件，并向中國(guó)大陸居民撥打數(shù)以千萬計(jì)的騷擾電話。據(jù)不完全統(tǒng)計(jì)，從境外向中國(guó)大陸發(fā)送的“法輪功”垃圾電子郵件平均每月都超過3000多萬封。
二、關(guān)于宗教信仰問題
一些美國(guó)人士喜歡把“法輪功”問題當(dāng)作宗教問題來看待。事實(shí)上，“法輪功”同宗教沒有任何關(guān)系。1992年，李洪志創(chuàng)立“法輪功”時(shí)，自稱是氣功師，目的是用他所謂“自身的能量”――亦即氣功給別人治病，以此掙錢。其結(jié)果是致使一些病人延誤治療而死亡，他不得已另謀出路，編造了一套理論，通過賣書來掙錢，最后發(fā)展為利用精神控制來騙取錢財(cái)。這就是“法輪功”由來的事實(shí)，看不出它同神圣的宗教有什么關(guān)系。李洪志的理論，都是為他對(duì)練習(xí)者實(shí)行精神控制服務(wù)的。如，他說世上一切的事情都是他在無數(shù)年前安排好的，連希特勒大屠殺都是天意。他不許“法輪功”人員信仰宗教，說宗教都是誤人的，只有“法輪功”在救助人們逃離就要爆炸的地球。這就是宗教信仰嗎？
三、中國(guó)政府處理“法輪功”問題的政策
中國(guó)政府處理“法輪功”問題的政策是：教育、幫助、挽救絕大多數(shù)受騙上當(dāng)?shù)钠胀ň毩?xí)者，依法懲處違法犯罪的少數(shù)“法輪功”組織骨干。在200萬“法輪功”人員中，98%以上的是普通練習(xí)者，政府動(dòng)員全社會(huì)幫助他們認(rèn)清“法輪功”的邪教本質(zhì)，幫助他們恢復(fù)因?yàn)榘V迷“法輪功”而放棄的生產(chǎn)、生活，使他們重新回到正常社會(huì)中。目前這98%以上的練習(xí)者均已擺脫了“法輪功”的精神控制，已經(jīng)融入正常社會(huì)中。他們不僅沒有受到任何歧視，還在生活、生產(chǎn)、工作中受到一些優(yōu)惠待遇，因?yàn)檫@些人曾因癡迷“法輪功”而拋家舍業(yè)，成為弱勢(shì)群體。
對(duì)極少數(shù)從事犯法犯罪活動(dòng)的“法輪功”骨干分子，中國(guó)司法機(jī)關(guān)依法進(jìn)行處罰，這并不是因?yàn)樗麄兙毩?xí)了“法輪功”，而是因?yàn)樗麄儚氖铝诉`法犯罪活動(dòng)，觸犯了刑律。犯了法，就應(yīng)當(dāng)依法懲處，這在任何國(guó)家都一樣。
中國(guó)的民眾支持政府依法取締“法輪功”邪教，支持政府幫助、挽救絕大多數(shù)普通練習(xí)者，支持政府依法懲處少數(shù)違法犯罪的“法輪功”人員。中國(guó)政府必須按照民意辦事，其他任何外部因素影響不了中國(guó)政府落實(shí)民意。
Three key issues regarding Falun Gong
1. Why did Chinese government ban on Falun Gong?
Because Falun Gong has committed serious crimes infringing on human rights.
(1) Endangering lives
Under the severe spiritual control of Falun Gong ringleader Li Hongzhi, more than 1000 Falun Gong practitioners lost their lives because they refused to take medicine or see doctor, believing in the fallacy that Falun Gong practitioners should not take medicine when fell ill; several hundred practitioners committed suicide by following Li Hongzhi's appealing that "you will become immortal once you neglect life or death"; and over 30 innocent people were killed by Falun Gong fanatics. A typical example is the Tian'anmen Square self-immolation incident: on January 23, seven Falun Gong practitioners set themselves on fire on the Tian'anmen Square in order to achieve the so-called "consummation", resulting in 2 deaths and 3 disabled because of serious injuries.
(2) Seriously infringing upon other people's rights and freedom of speech of the news media
In 1998, because a news agency in Shandong Province published a news report on a Falun Gong practitioner who had died for refusing to take medicine, Falun Gong organized more than 1,000 Falun Gong members to have besieged the news agency. In May 1998, Falun Gong organized more than 1,000 Falun Gong practitioners to have besieged Beijing TV station because it reported on a PhD student who suffered schizophrenia because of practicing Falun Gong and obsessed in Li Hongzhi's fallacies. Before it was banned by Chinese government, Falun Gong had organized over 300 such besieging actions.
So far Falun Gong didn't ever stop committing crimes and infringing upon other people's legal rights. According to an incomplete statistics, since June 2002, Falun Gong has attacked Chinese communication satellites for more than 200 times with a total time amounted to over 100 hours. Falun Gong also publicly instigated Falun Gong members to attack public infrastructure for radio and TV broadcasting. There had been more than 100 cases for Falun Gong members to be involved in attacking optical fiber and cable and having illegal TV program broadcasting. Many instigative articles on attacking communication cables can be found on Falun Gong website as well. In October 2002, Li Xiangchun, a Chinese American Falun Gong member had an abortive attack on the communication cables in Yangzhou City of Jiangshu Province. In the court, Li claimed that although it was true that he had attempted to attack the communication cable, he didn't violate law since he was to publicize Falun Gong. Falun Gong have systematically sent junks to internet users in Mainland China and made harassing calls targeting at Mainland Chinese. Incomplete statistics indicates that monthly Falun Gong junks sent from overseas to Mainland China amounted to over 30 million.
2. About the issue of religious belief.
Some Americans intended to look on Falun Gong as a religious issue. In fact, Falun Gong had no relationship with religion. In 1992 when Li Hongzhi founded Falun Gong, he claimed himself to be a Qigong master so that he could make money by curing disease for others with his alleged "energy"--qigong, which in turn resulted in some patients died for not having been treated in time. Therefore Li Hongzhi had to resort to other trickeries. He fabricated his theories and made money by selling his books. As it further developed, he eventually resorted to spiritual control to amass money. That is the fact about the evolution of Falun Gong, for which no relationship can be observed with religions. All Li Hongzhi's theories serve to realize his mind control over Falun Gong practitioners. For instance, he said that things in the world have been arranged by him countless years ago; the Nanjing Massacre and Hitler's killing were caused by changes of astronomical phenomena; he prohibited Falun Gong members from believing in religions, saying that all religions were fake and could not save people from torment, and only Falun Gong could help people escape from the exploding earth. Can such ideas be regarded as religious belief?
3. Policy of Chinese government on Falun Gong.
The policy adopted by Chinese government on the Falun Gong issue is: educating, converting and emancipating the majority of the Falun Gong practitioners who have been deceived by Li Hongzhi and his Falun Gong, and punish, according to law, the few who cherish ulterior motives and disrupt public order. Among the estimated two million Falun Gong members, 98 percent were ordinary practitioners. They have now broken away from Falun Gong and come to normal life with the kind help from society, their units and families. After their converting, they are not discriminated, but have received certain preferential treatments in their work and living since they have become quite vulnerable after their obsessing in Falun Gong.
Only a tiny number of Falun Gong core members have been punished simply because they have engaged in criminal activities in violation of law instead of having practiced Falun Gong. It is an international practice to investigate the criminal responsibility of those who engage in illegal activities and those who violate the law.
Chinese people support their government's banning and cracking down on cult Falun Gong, helping and emancipating the majority Falun Gong practitioners and punishing those few Falun Gong members engaged in criminal activities in violation of law. Chinese government must follow the public will and no external factors can stop it from such determination.
